THE WORLD MARKETPLACE FOR ELECTRONICS

The world-class event, Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition), will be held from October 13-16, 2007. Organised b
y the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the fair will ho
use more than 2,400 international exhibitors.
Staged at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the premium venue that offers the convenience of an easily- accessible city-centre location, the fair serves as a superb s
howcase for manufacturers and a powerful magnet for trade visitors.

Last year, 57,791 buyers from 151 countries and regions wi
tnessed the success of the fair, a 7% increase over the prev
ious year. Positive market prospects are expected to bringm
any business opportunities to the fair. In 2006, Hong Kong's total exports of electronics products reached US$156.3 billi
on, 13.6% more than 2005.

In 2006, two new zones, Digital World and Home Tech, wer
e added to the fair. Located at the Expo Drive Hall, the zones received positive feedback. This year, the zones will return w
ith more exhibitors. Digital World focuses on entertainment ,
imaging, communications, gadgets, multimedia and compu
ter-related digital products, while Home Tech showcases pr
oducts such as intelligent home appliances, security produ
cts and healthcare electronics, which are currently enjoying high demand.

Revealed in the survey findings conducted during last year's fair, home entertainment/audio visual products, personal ele
ctronics and home appliances are regarded as the highest growth categories in 2007. As a result, the two zones are ex
pected to retain their popularity.

To cater for rising brand consciousness among consumers, the Hall of Fame again contributes by showing the integratio
n of fine design with premium quality. This year, more than e
xhibitors from 10 countries and regions will display their pro
ducts in this distinguished setting. International buyers are a
bout to see brands include Midea, Haier, TCL, Xplore, OTO, Hisense, Olevia, Great Wall and many more.

For easy sourcing, exhibitors from the Chinese mainland, Ta
iwan, Korea and Thailand will form respective group pavilion
.Buyers will be able to source for the latest electronics prod
ucts and technology from various part of the world.

As a result of the growing popularity of green concepts in the marketplace, consumers are generally conscious of environ
mental protection. Some countries and regions have adopte
d a number of directives for environmental protection, which are having an impact on electronics products manufacturing. During the fair period, there will be a seminar on "Latest upd
ates of REACH in EU & China RoHS". Experts in the industry will give more insights on this hot issue.

The 27th edition of Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edi
tion) will be held concurrently with electronicAsia 2007. The 11th edition event is an important showcase for sourcing pa
rts, components and assemblies. The dual events provide t
he electronics industry with a one-stop trading platform.
